Iconic Clip

The LAMY AL-star is fitted with what is now known as LAMY's iconic automatic spring-action metal clip that is chrome plated or colored depending on the model

The LAMY AL-star is the lightweight aluminum "cousin" of LAMY's bestselling Safari pens.   

Although looking almost alike in shape and design, with the exception of the smoke-colored triangular grip to ensure the best ergonomic performance, engineering an aluminum version of the ABS-plastic LAMY Safari is an entire project in itself, requiring substantial changes and revisions to manufacturing processes and design.  

The aluminum barrel makes the pen far more "engravable" and gives a more prestigious look and feel to one of the world's best selling fountain pens.
